  5. lwwf2avi is a standalone program that converts LightWave wireframe
  6. previews into Windows AVI animation files.  (A similar program for
  7. the Amiga, lwwf2anim, converts wireframe previews into ANIM files.)
  8.  
  9. lwwf2avi allows you to select an AVI codec and set the frame rate and
  10. compression along with keyframe and data rate controls if the codec
  11. supports them.  My first choice for the codec would be Microsoft RLE,
  12. which is lossless and compresses previews fairly well.  Note, though,
  13. that because most AVI codecs won't accept 1-bit images as input, the
  14. preview frames are expanded from 1-bit to 8-bit before being sent to
  15. the codec, so the compression won't be dramatic.  In fact, some AVI
  16. files will end up larger than the previews.

  18. The pixel width of a wireframe preview is always stored as a multiple
  19. of 32, although its true width might be anything.  LightWave is able
  20. to crop the frames to fit its display.  lwwf2avi can't do this, so
  21. you might see some extra stuff along the left and right edge.
